The fact that Dora the Explorer is now a "tween" is beyond sad. These shows on channels for kids are meant to be for kids, not teenagers. So why do they make all these TV kids grow up? Dors is now a tween, Rugrats are now "All Grown Up". Its rediculous. 
I agree with you, but can you see the sociology behind it? Be sure to include that. In this case, I would talk about how the media creates these images which then shape the way kids think - especially the older Dora which, I think, sexualizes her, objectifies her and send kids the message that to be pretty, they should wear makeup, jewelry, be thin and have long flowing hair.
